Investigator (Network Theft) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Conducting investigations relating to cable and infrastructure theft that affects eThekwini Electricity. They will be responsible for patrolling hot spot areas and conducting surveillance operations to apprehend suspects that are involved in cable and infrastructure theft on a 24/7 shift basis.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Investigation of cases relating to the theft of electrical infrastructure.
• Implement operational and special operational plans.
• Report on progress, feedback and response on training.
• Draft and produce Administrative & Operational Reports.
• Ensure vehicle log sheets are complete accurately.

Essential Requirements    

• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
• Peace Officer certificate or be able to obtain it within one year from the date of appointment.
• Firearm license certificate or be able to obtain it within one year from date of appointment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 2 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Crime Prevention or Investigations or Security Management fields or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
