    Investment Analyst - Cape Town

    Qualifications and experience required for the Investment Analyst:

    • Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics or a related quantitative discipline
    • Postgraduate studies or actuarial progress (FIA/FASA)
    • five years’ experience in investments, actuarial modelling, quantitative research or analyticswithin multi-asset investment environments
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced modelling techniques), along with strong programming skills in at least one analytical language such as Python or R
    • Experience working with large datasets in modelling environments as well as familiarity with investment data platforms like Bloomberg
    • Proven ability to build robust valuation models for different asset classes
    • Solid understanding of financial markets dynamics including macroeconomic factors influencing multi-asset portfolios

    Key duties of the Investment Analyst:

    • Build and refine asset class valuation models and analytical frameworks to guide strategic asset allocation.
    • Conduct research on asset classes, macroeconomic trends, and investment opportunities to generate actionable insights.
    • Develop benchmarks, model portfolios, and optimisation tools for effective portfolio construction.
    • Provide quantitative analysis to support strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions.
    • Design and maintain advanced quantitative models and decision-support tools for multi-asset investments.
    • Perform back-testing, projections, and scenario analyses to enhance modelling and allocation strategies.
    • Monitor portfolios for alignment with strategic views, risk budgets, and investment objectives.
    • Prepare portfolio commentary and performance analysis for regular investment reporting cycles.
    • Collaborate with advisors, portfolio managers, operational teams, and external managers across the investment process.
    • Present modelling outputs, research findings, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders while contributing to broader investment discussions.
