    Investment Operations Manager

    About the team:

    The primary responsibility of the Investment Operations team is to oversee the trade lifecycle (post execution) and ensure delivery by our external service provider, State Street Bank & Trust Co (SSBT). 
    This role entails close collaboration with various stakeholders across the organization, including the dealing team, legal department and other operational units.

    In this role you will:

    • Be responsible for defining operational requirements for the implementation, embedding and maintenance of new products or service requirements with SSBT.
    • Establish and nurture close relationships with various teams at SSBT to address any trading and settlement issues promptly.
    • Developing an in-depth knowledge of Charles River (our target order management system)
    • Provide support to the Global Head of Investment Operations and establish/maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and external parties such as brokers and custodians.
    • Management of key deliverables and ensuring swift responses to business queries/issues.
    • Manage and supervise a team of Investment Operations Analysts responsible for overseeing SSBT functions, including:
      • Transaction processing queries
      • Settlement and trading queries
    • Ensure all corporate action events are elected on and the oversee that these events are booked correctly into the relevant systems.
    • Ensure all proxy voting events are elected on and any reporting is done accurately and on time.
    • Oversight of reconciliations (including cash/stock and failed trade reports).
    • Oversight of OTC processes including the onboarding of new funds to electronic confirmation platforms (DTCC, Markitwire) as well as clearing agents (CME, LCH, ICE) accurately and on time. Setting up of LEI codes as and when needed and the maintenance thereof.
    • Placing of both local and international Unit Trust transactions.
    • Continually look to improve manual processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve efficiencies and our STP rates as well updating procedure guides.
    • Assist with the implementation of new products, new instruments, or new service requirements.

    You should consider applying if you have:

    • Qualified CA (SA) with a minimum of 5 years post articles experience in Financial Services/ Asset Management
    • Demonstrated experience within an operational role
    • Experience in leading a team
    • Technical knowledge and experience of Charles River, ETD/OTC derivatives, Corporate Actions
