    ISP Support Technician

    About

    Faircom, a division of the Faircape Group, runs and manages a fibre and wireless network throughout the Western Cape. The network is growing with new clients and a fast expanding FTTH growth!.
    A vacancy for an ISP Support Technician has become available. The successful applicant will assist and support customers of Faircom. If you would like to work in a fast paced environment that chases innovation and strives for excellence, then this is the role for you!

    Duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following

    • Customer support via email, tickets and phone
    • Setting up residential routers
    • Daily reports on problems and resolutions
    • Ensuring a fast turn around time to queries
    • Reporting up the line with regards to physical fibre issues
    • New customer installations

    Requirements
    Qualification

    • Matric
    • Relevant Information Technology Degree or Diploma advantageous
    • Mikrotik MTCNA

    Experience And Knowledge

    • 3 years experience in a similar role
    • IP addressing and subnetting knowledge
    • General network and internet understanding
    • ISP experience advantageous
    • Mikrotik router configuration and troubleshooting
    • Knowledge of wireless networks
    • Ticketing, and answering customer queries via the phone

    Skills And Attributes

    • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Customer service orientated
    • Must have a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Good problem-solving ability
    • Attention to detail
    • Demonstrated leadership skills will be advantageous

    Specific Requirements

    • Own transport
    • Clear credit record
    • No criminal record
    • Solid and positive references

    Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 to 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to be on call on a rotational basis.

    Benefits
    With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, we are offering a salary from R18,000 cost to company.
