IT Security Officer at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To plan, manage and implement defences against security breaches and vulnerability issues for the enterprise IT systems, business operations, and facilitates to audit existing systems, while directing the administration of security policies, activities and standards.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Maintain, manage and operate the network security systems and infrastructure.
• Provide advanced application level support for the resolution of security system faults including system patches and software.
• Leveraging other network management tools for the identification and response to security incidents and faults.
• Conduct research, design and implement security systems and fault management support procedures for assigned systems.
• Investigate opportunities to update security system capabilities or perform policy updates based upon system performance reports and observed incidents or threats.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field.
• Information Technology Security related certificate.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• 4 Years relevant experience.
