    JP Foundation Phase Teacher Librarian

    Description

    • The College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 01 January 2024.
    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience as a teacher librarian
    • The ability to catalogue and classify all types of media
    • Experience in creating a vibrant and dynamic space to enhance interest in reading
    • The ability to promote the love of reading for research and pleasure through masterful storytelling, and innovative approaches to media literacy
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
    • A passion for teaching and an understanding of the developmental needs of children in a co-educational environment
    • The ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders
    • An ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace change with alacrity
    • Computer literacy and experience in integrating IT into learning and teaching
    • A fundamentally future-orientated approach to teaching and learning
    • A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
    • An awareness of the nature of our school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • Ability to embrace diversity and transformation in all aspects of school life
    • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
