    The requirements for this position are:  

    • A relevant qualification and proven experience in leading a sports programme within a large and busy institution
    • Minimum of 5 years of working experience within a similar position including managing a Sports System with both Recreational and High-Performance emphases
    • An understanding of the importance of sport in a boys’ school  
    • Exceptional planning and organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
    • Ability to problem-solve, work collaboratively and proven examples of innovation and confidence in managing change

    • Experience in the recruitment of high-quality student-athletes, coaches and staff with proven examples of such
    • An understanding of budget management and financial planning
    • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development

    GC Senior History Teacher

    Description

    The Girls’ College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 May 2024.
    Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals at the Girls’ College who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this position.

    Requirements

    • A recognised degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification
    • Experience teaching History at the FET level, preferably up to Grade 12 level and/or at university level
    • IEB NSC marking experience would be a distinct advantage
    • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes learning
    • Create classroom communities where all members of the class are valued and contribute to the creation of knowledge
    • Understanding of current educational practices and trends in girls’ education
    • Good planning, organisational and reporting skills with an ability to evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice

    • Google Certification would be advantageous

    GP Art and Drama Teacher

    BP Class Music Teacher

    Description

    • We are seeking vibrant, hard-working, and enthusiastic candidates who work well in a team and who believe they would be an asset to this exuberant department.

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent
    • A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification will be an advantage
    • Experience in teaching class music from Grades 3 – 7
    • The ability to play the piano up to a Grade 7 level according to one of the IEB accredited examination boards
    • The ability to play a second instrument will be an advantage
    • Experience and the ability to teach Music Theory according to the Gr 1 – 6 TCL & ABRSM syllabi
    • Experience with choirs, school orchestras and instrumental ensembles will be an advantage 
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience in organising music events and productions
    • The willingness to perform with ensemble groups within the music department at special occasions
    • The ability to accompany chapel worship on the piano or organ
    • The ability and willingness to incorporate technology in the classroom and for administrative tasks

    Previous experience teaching in boys’ schools will be an advantage
