Junior Accountant at Clientele Limited

Purpose:

• Post journal entries, updating GL and financial statements, prepare various monthly reconciliations, process payments and maintain finance registers. 

Key Responsibilities:

• To prepare various monthly balance sheet reconciliations insurance and non-insurance related
• To ensure daily claims and creditor payments are reviewed and timeously paid
• To ensure purchase orders are up to date and the suppliers are paid on time – Contacting suppliers for statement ensuring there is no outstanding balances. Liaising with various business units to ensure the items are received 
• Ensuring regular suppliers are registered before paying
• Maintaining the fixed assets register, capturing all assets onto Sage into their correct cost centre, and processing depreciation
• Posting journals to the trial balance for non-systematic/manual payments or transactions
• Preparing the invoices for internal and external tenants and submitting invoices to the various parties
• Monitoring accounts for cash constraints and ensuring accounts have sufficient funds to process necessary payments daily. This includes transfer of funds between accounts when required
• Identifying and recording inter-group transactions

Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Finance environment is a necessity
• Must have experience in supplier reconciliations
• Pastel experience would be advantageous
• Intermediate VAT knowledge is required
• A BCom accounting degree or equivalent is required.
• Good Excel skills
