Junior Accountant - Sandton at Coloplast

Major Areas of Accountability (not limited to)

• Supplier vetting and monitoring of supplier master data
• Processing of accurate and legitimate supplier invoices
• Preparing weekly payment schedule and ensuring invoices are paid before due, as well as the preparation of any urgent payment requests that are business critical
• Communicate with suppliers via phone, email, mail
• Resolving supplier queries.
• Preparation of monthly accrual journal.
• Management of fixed assets
• Performing monthly FAR and supplier reconciliations
• Treasury administration and management
• Analysis of cash flow for intercompany payments and collation/preparation of necessary documents to effect payment.
• BEE Supplier Spend Reporting and Monitoring of BEE Certificates ensuring they are always within our financial year and available for use
• Assisting in the preparation of Budgets per BU and collating required information to assist in the preparation thereof.
• Reconciliation of VAT Output/Input as per the reports issued by Tax Global and confirming accuracy of inputs in VAT Return.
• Support on all finance related admin activities and ad hoc projects.
• Actively engaging with Senior Accountant to support management of general ledger accounts.

Essential Qualifications

• Financial Management Degree
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills
• Minimum 3 years accounts payable/ finance experience
• Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP system an advantage.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 3-Year Financial Management Degree
• Excel Moderate skills (V-lookup, Sumifs, Pivot tables etc.)
• Well organized
• Strong analytical thinking abilities
• Goal driven.
  Outstanding organizational and written/verbal communications skills.
• Sense of urgency
• Ability to work cross functionally with executives, managers, and other staff in a respectful and service-oriented manner, to garner cooperation and service excellence.
