Junior AI Engineer at Kontak Recruitment

• A growing information technology business operating across multiple sectors, provides AI-driven solutions and training to a diverse client base spanning schools, SMEs, and non-technical organisations. The team works across a broad range of AI applications and automation workflows, with a strong focus on practical, real-world implementation rather than theoretical development.
• This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and client engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client needs, proposing appropriate AI solutions, and implementing those solutions end to end. In addition to development work, the role includes facilitating entry-level AI training workshops for teachers, staff, and non-technical users. The position is office-based with regular client-facing travel, and a technical mentorship structure is in place to support growth into the role.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate-level qualification in a relevant field, or a strong portfolio of practical AI projects in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Demonstrable experience building AI workflows and AI-based applications, whether through code or no-code and low-code platforms.
• Comfortable working with non-technical users, including educators and entry-level business staff.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to attend client meetings and present proposed solutions professionally.
• Own reliable transport is essential for client visits.
• Willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and approaches as the scope of work evolves.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend introductory client meetings to assess needs and understand current operational challenges.
• Propose practical, fit-for-purpose AI solutions aligned to each client's requirements and technical capacity.
• Implement approved AI solutions from initial build through to delivery and handover.
• Develop and maintain AI workflows and AI-based applications for a range of client environments.
• Facilitate basic AI literacy and prompt training workshops for teachers, non-technical staff, and entry-level users.
• Support coding and robotics training sessions where required as part of the broader business offering.
• Work across diverse industries and client types, adapting solutions to different contexts and use cases.
• Meet development timelines and maintain the quality and reliability of delivered solutions.
