Junior Developer (.Net & React), KuGompo City (East London) at Sheldon Recruitment

• We are seeking a Junior Developer (.Net & React) for a permanent vacancy based in East London, Eastern Cape
• Join a small team rewriting a legacy .NET Framework business system into a React front end and an ASP.NET Core REST API on AWS. You'll work under close supervision and mentorship from senior engineers, picking up tasks scoped for you, with your work reviewed before it merges

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• C# / .NET — can build and debug a .NET application; understands classes, async, LINQ, dependency injection.
• React — has built components, handled state and props, called an API from the front end. TypeScript exposure is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to have every piece of work reviewed, take feedback well, and ask questions early rather than guess.

Ideal experience (can be taught) -

• TypeScript, EF Core, SQL / SQL Server
• REST API design, domain-driven design, the repository pattern
• Docker, AWS (ECS, RDS, ALB), CI/CD pipelines
• Authentication / OAuth2 / OIDC
• Experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)
• Any exposure to older stacks — WinForms, WCF, ASP.NET WebForms, Telerik
• Automated testing (unit or integration)

Who this suits
