Minimum requirements

• An honours (NQF level 8) in Biochemistry.
• A minimum of one (1) year’ lecturing experience. 

RECOMMENDATION / ADDED ADVANTAGE:

• Accreditation with the South African Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SASBMB).

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of general biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Ability to lecture molecular biology, conduct biochemistry practicals on a tertiary level with a specific inclination towards teaching molecular biology Biochemistry techniques.
• Proven competency in basic molecular and techniques such as DNA isolation, tissue culture, microscopy and gel Electrophoresis.
• Excellent computer skills for teaching and learning, and administration.
• Track record of student mentoring and community engagements projects.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to function as part of the team and also in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
