Junior Legal Advisor at OVK - Group

Minimum Requirements:

• Admitted attorney;
• 2 years post-admission experience;
• Thorough knowledge of: Civil litigation, General litigation and drafting and reviewing of contracts;
• Good experience of High Court and Magistrate’s Court collections will serve as a recommendation;
• Thorough knowledge of: The Credit Act, Contract Law, Company Law, POPI legislation and Magistrate Court and High Court procedures is a strong recommendation;
• Company secretariat exposure, interest and experience will be taken in consideration;
• Valid driver's license.

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English;
• Good computer skills (MS Office);
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills;
• High level of negotiation skills;
• Ability to function within a team;
• High level of integrity and ethical values.
• Hight standard of spelling and language skills.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and reviewing of contracts;
• Handling compliance and case law and implementation thereof;
• Handling company secretarial duties;
• Debtor collection;
• General handling of legal enquiries;
• Preparation and delivery of specialised legal opinions, the necessary experience to be able to drive the civil process from consultation to settlement of a case, in collaboration with OVK’s panel of lawyers.
