    Junior Logistics Manager (Sandton)

    Job Purpose

    • Oversee daily logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations by managing day-to-day logistics activities while also supervising warehouse staff and optimizing operational efficiencies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Warehouse & Logistics:

    • Oversee and ensure smooth running and daily logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations.
    • Manage transport planning and ensure timely delivery of goods.
    • Optimize routes, costs, and processes for maximum efficiency.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal regulations.
    • Manage budgets, control costs, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
    • Implement process improvements and best practices.
    • Monitoring inventory levels across all sections of the warehouse.
    • Addressing customer inquiries regarding deliveries, resolving shipping issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
    • Overseeing warehouse activities like receiving, packing, and shipping goods, ensuring proper storage and handling.
    • Optimizing warehouse space utilization.
    • Managing warehouse equipment and maintenance.

    Leadership:

    • Managing day to day activities of staff to optimum efficiency levels.
    • Lead and develop the logistics team to ensure high performance and accountability.
    • Assigning tasks and providing training to warehouse personnel. 

    Reporting 

    • Generating reports on key logistics metrics.
    • Monitor and report on inventory, delivery performance, and operational KPIs.

    Requirements

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

    Education

    • Diploma in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business or related field.

    Experience

    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or transport management.
