Junior Research Officer at University of Cape Town

Requirements for the position:

• At least Masters degree in a related subject area (Human Geography; Urban Studies, Environmental Science)
• At least a year of relevant experience working on research projects in the field of climate adaptation
• Skills in qualitative research and report writing
• Knowledge of the status of research in the field of climate adaptation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit research ethics applications
• Develop and maintain Data Management plans
• Conduct qualitative research on urban adaptation
• Undertake literature reviews and synthesis
• Contribute to project reports and other knowledge products
• Plan and coordinate project activities including workshops, procurement, etc
• Build and maintain networks of stakeholders
• Attend and present at seminars, workshops and conferences

The annual cost of employment for 2026, including benefits is between R620 804 and R720 804.
