Junior Typescript Developer at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• Our client is seeking a skilled Junior TypeScript Developer to join their Solutions Engineering team on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to design, architect, and build innovative insurance products, working at the intersection of technology, product development, and client integration.
• You'll be part of a dynamic team that partners directly with clients to understand their systems, business requirements, and challenges then deliver scalable, low-maintenance solutions that accelerate value creation.

Role responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke insurance products and integrations for clients
• Collaborate with customers from initial design to product launch, ensuring seamless implementations.
• Advise and guide clients through product integration processes, including workshops, demos, and solutioning.
• Write clean, scalable code using JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, and Git.
• Configure UI components, document templates, and integrations using JSON, HTML & CSS.
• Test products thoroughly with Mocha/Chai to ensure robust performance.
• Work with APIs (designing, testing, and integrating) and cloud solutions (AWS S3, Lambda, Serverless).
• Document business and technical requirements clearly and concisely.
• Collaborate across Projects, Product, and Sales Teams to ensure aligned, client-ready solutions.

Role requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a software developer.
• Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, and Git.
• Familiarity with AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, IAM, DynamoDB) is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of API's, integrations, and data models (primary keys, relationships).
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills able to rapidly prototype, test, and deliver solutions.
• High attention to detail in coding, writing, and documentation.
• Self-starter, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Previous client-facing or requirements-gathering experience.
