Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.
Manage and direct statistical process control activities
Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis
Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently
Monitor quality target levels
Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations
Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods
Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements
Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers
Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility
Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions
Responsible for leading QOS (Quality Operating System) initiatives within the production department
Provide Quality support to production department
Review with production team leaders and Process Coaches quality issues and be the point of contact with other departments such as Bodyshop, TCF, AQA and MP&L.
Coordinate during quality concerns containment actions, dock holds, special checks to eliminate any impact to customer.
Keep traceability records regarding quality actions for future reference
Manage quality documentation on FTT, FRC (First Time Through), 8Ds, Scrap, TH Holds, Campaigns etc.
Prepare standard reports for Quality reviews within the plant and with other areas.
Lead cross-functional team initiatives in quality to achieve no faults forward / zero defects.
Lead 8D resolution of Warranty and VO (Vehicle Operation) concerns working together with Quality, MP&L (Material Planning & Logistics), Machining and VO.
Document and control error proofing checks, internal checks, and additional containments.(Control Plan Adherence)
Qualifications
Degree/National Diploma in Quality / Chemical / Mechanical / Operations Management
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Paint Shop, Leading Teams
