    Learning Designer

    Learning Designer 

    The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

    SACAP is looking for a Learning Designer who will work closely with the Academic Department to assist in the comprehensive design and development of pedagogically sound, engaging and meaningful digital learning resources for online modules; educator training and development; and student support initiatives, such as ‘how to’ guides and infographics of policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the end-to-end production of digital and video content for online modules.
    • Conceptualise, create and/or assemble multimedia digital assets in close collaboration with in-house and external content developers. 
    • Coach educators on the creation of digital content such as videos and screencasts, storyboarding, scripting and filming video content.
    • Quality assurance of video content.
    • Ensure digital resources are aligned with the curriculum and module outcomes, as well as SACAP’s educational philosophy and learning design principles.
    • Be a source of expertise on the end-to-end production of digital content for online learning.
    • Upload digital resources to various platforms and ensure high quality modules in Moodle. 

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of a 3-year undergraduate degree, in Education or Communication and Media Studies.
    • Agile project management
    • Design thinking
    • Demonstrated experience in designing engaging and meaningful learning resources (a portfolio of evidence is required).
    • Knowledge of instructional design theories, methodologies and online pedagogies.
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
    • Highly developed relationship-building / interpersonal skills.
    • Strong digital literacy skills.
    • A passion for online education as a rapidly growing mode of delivery.
    • Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail

    This is a full time position operating from Mondays to Fridays:

    • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
    • Friday: 08:30 – 16:00

    Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the LD position.
