    Lecturer / Associate Lecturer (Cybersecurity) X2

    • The School is expanding its cybersecurity activities and seeks applicants with research and teaching interests in cybersecurity. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cryptography; network security; secure software and systems engineering; applied security (digital forensics, malware analysis); offensive security (penetration testing, vulnerability research, red teaming); formal methods and verification; security of artificial intelligence and machine learning systems; privacy and identity; hardware security; and human-factors and usable security.

    Brief Description

    • Qualifications: The posts are offered at Lecturer or Associate Lecturer level. An appointment will be made at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
    • Lecturer: Applicants must hold a doctorate in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field, with a research and teaching focus in cybersecurity. The following factors will be taken into account: (i) evidence of publications in accredited journals or peer-reviewed venues, (ii) current or future research areas and how this research will be compatible with and/or strengthen the research activities within the School, and (iii) teaching experience at a tertiary institution. New PhD graduates will be considered.
    • Associate Lecturer: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field, and must be registered for a doctorate (PhD in progress). Tertiary teaching experience and a clear research trajectory aligned with the School’s directions will be advantageous.
    • Duties: The successful applicants will be expected to teach a range of cybersecurity and computer science courses, including offensive security, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; supervise and/or co-supervise postgraduate students; participate in academic administration; and develop a productive research programme in cybersecurity.
