    Lecturer: Clinical Psychology

    The Department of Psychology at the University of Cape Town is seeking to employ a Lecturer in clinical psychology, starting 1 January 2020.
    Requirements:

    •       A Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
    •       Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner in the category of clinical psychology.
    •       If not already registered for a PhD, the successful candidate will be expected to register for that degree during the first year of appointment.

    Responsibilities:

    •       Teaching, as assigned, throughout undergraduate and postgraduate years.
    •       Clinical supervision of trainees in the Department’s Master’s in Clinical Psychology programme (this duty may be phased in for applicants who have not already been registered with the HPCSA for three years at the time of appointment).
    •       Convene at least one course (usually at the undergraduate level).
    •       Conduct and publish research.
    •       Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university administration.

    Advantageous:

    •       Ability to contribute to other areas of departmental teaching (e.g., psychometrics, statistics, developmental psychology, neuropsychology).
    •       Evidence of successful teaching and supervision of postgraduate theses.
    •       A research track record evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals.
    •       At least three (3) years of registration as a clinical psychologist with the HPCSA.
