Lecturer: Programming (Part-Time) - Westville at IIE MSA and IIE Varsity College

The IIE Varsity College, Westville Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer within the Computer Science school for the 2025 Academic year. 

• PROG6221 (Programming 2A)
• PROG7311 (Programming 3A)
• PROG7313 (Programming 3C)

Competencies Required:

• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the current state of research in the Information Systems field.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge of various research methods, theories and frameworks used in the Information Systems field.
• Be able to evaluate the appropriateness of specific methods, theories and frameworks for use in given Information Systems research projects and contexts.
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent Presentation Skills.
• Assertiveness and dynamism.
• Understanding of customer service in education.
• Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively.

Proficiency in the Following Technologies:

• Java
• Open Source Application Development - Android (ReactNative, Kotlin, etc.)
• Database Systems (SQL, Oracle, NoSQL, Firebase, MongoDB, etc.)
• NET (C#, .NET Core, ASP.net MVC, Blazor, UWP)
• Operating Systems (Windows/Linux)
• Visual Studio 2022 and Visual Studio Code

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Honour's degree or Postgraduate diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, or any Database-related IT qualification.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years Teaching and Learning experience (preferably in a teaching environment)
• Lecturing experience in programming and databases
• Proven track record of managing code and collaboration using Git and GitHub.
• Work experience as a database designer or developer/software developer/ application developer will be advantageous
