Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor (Department of Optometry) at University of Limpopo

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in optometry.
• Registration with the HPCSA with diagnostic and/or therapeutic privileges.
• Experience in teaching and clinical supervision of undergraduate students.
• An interest in academia/research, proof of registration for a PhD degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum three (3) years teaching experience at an institution of higher
• education.
• Deadline driven, ability to multi-task, organise, plan and work under pressure.
• Communication and problem-solving skills.

• A record of publications in SAPSE accredited journals.

Duties and responsibilities

• Teaching and clinical supervision of undergraduate optometry students.
• Development of study materials and learner guides for optometry students.
• Supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate optometry research projects.
• Engage in own research, publish and present results at national and international conferences.
• Perform all administrative duties related to clinical teaching, learning and community engagement, as delegated by Head of Department

Requirements:

• Associate Professor
• A PhD degree in optometry/ relevant field.
• Registration with the HPCSA with diagnostic and/or therapeutic privileges.
• A proven record of excellence in teaching; demonstrated potential in
• establishing a successful research program; Publications in SAPSE.
• accredited journals; supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate students.
• A minimum 5-10 years teaching experience at an institution of higher education.
• Deadline driven, ability to multi-task, organise, plan and work under pressure.
• Communication and problem-solving skills.
