Legal Advisor: Litigation and Claims at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• An appropriate tertiary legal qualification.
• At least three years’ working experience in a legal advisory environment.
• Appropriate career-related experience in a municipal or public service legal environment.
• Admitted attorney or advocate (passed bar exam).

Key attributes and competencies:

• An understanding of delictual claims, collections and litigation-related matters.
• A sound knowledge of the Municipal Systems Act and other applicable local government legislation.
• Computer literacy and excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
• Understanding of corporate, legislative administration, administration of by-laws and delegation of powers.
• Ability to draft and review by-laws.
