Legal Counsel Manager - Midrand at Accenture

Job Description

This position is a full time Manager role to be filled by an experienced Legal Counsel, with at least 4 years of Corporate Law, Employment Law & Compliance experience in a Multi-National Corporation or Law Firm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review Contracts and provide transactional support to Deal Teams and Corporate Functions. 
• Work closely with the Data Privacy Team to ensure compliance with applicable Data Privacy Laws.
• Assist in the coordination and implementation of Post-Merger Integration process, and manage the integration/restructuring of South African-based Targets.
• Provide Corporate Law and Regulatory Advice in relation to the restructuring and business activities of the Company in Africa.
• Assist in the implementation of Global Compliance Programs in the areas of Anti-Corruption, Competition Law, Trade Compliance, Ethics, and Government Compliance Support.
• Draft and review Workplace Policies, Employment & other Contracts in support of the Company’s Business.
• Conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct, advise and participate in grievance and disciplinary proceedings.
• Represent the Company at the CCMA and other Legal Forums, and engage Outside Counsel where appropriate.
• Monitor regulatory developments, advise and work with the Senior Manager to ensure compliance with applicable Legislation. 
• Guide Leadership to manage the business of the Company in accordance with  sound Corporate Governance Principles and Good Practice.
• Generally provide legal counsel, advice and guidance to the Company to ensure maximum protection of the Company’s legal rights and mitigation of legal risks.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent Law Degre
• Admitted Attorney
• Experienced in Compliance, Commercial & Employment Law and good working knowledge of Data Privacy Laws, Labour Legislation & Corporate Governance
• Excellent verbal/written communications skills.
• Analytical approach and ability to consistently apply good judgment.
• At least 4 years of relevant legal experience with a MNC and/or a Law Firm.
