Legal Project Manager at Cognia Law

Our client is one of South Africa’s leading law firms with employees based in offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

They are looking for an interim Legal Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of a large, class action matter.

The role is to commence as soon as possible, is full time and preference will be given to candidates who are based in Johannesburg, to work on a hybrid basis, although working from Cape Town is an option, with occasional travel.

Job Scope

The Legal Project Manager will be responsible for, amongst others:

• Set up and manage key project governance artefacts, including communications plans, change management plans, RAID and Change Log, project plans, etc.
• Monitoring of progress re various workstreams
• Attending and leading project meetings
• Manage and report on project budget
• Prepare and send out regular status reports
• Provide LPM Services and overall responsibility for delivery of the project, including managing the project team and overall quality of work
• Assist various stakeholders with scoping and pricing, including identifying and understanding stakeholder requirements and establishing the level of support required
• Provide support in formulating, assessing, piloting and implementing legal technology
• Provide excellent client service
• Manage and support with set-up and resourcing

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be experienced in:

• litigation
• dispute resolution, and/or class actions,
• as well as managed review technology platforms
