    Librarian - Reference Number : REFS/055947

    • Package : R338 106 – 398 277 per annum (plus benefits)

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 plus a Degree / National Diploma in Library Information Practice. Library Information Science or equivalent qualification. Three (3) or more years of working experience in a library. Knowledge of relevant legislation/directives and policies. Proof of computer literacy. A valid driver’s license

    Duties :

    • Supervision of library services and personnel. Management of information. Support academic research, teaching, learning and the development of nursing students. Enhance accessibility of information and services to patrons. Provide support in the administration and management of library services.
    • Market and advocate for the library. Risk management. Library management. Selecting and organizing books, journals, and databases relevant to the institution's curricula. Providing Information Literacy Training. Assist students and academic staff with research queries and projects.
    • Oversee digital collections, including theses and other institutional resources. Conduct training on proper citing and referencing of sources. Promote access to credible open online resources. Collaborate closely with academic staff on research projects and institutional goals.
    • Embrace new technologies and acquiring skills to enhance credible library services and user experience. Adapt to the needs related to the implementation of higher education programmes and the digital age. Participate in programme accreditation and institutional audits activities. Maintain continuing professional development. Support the Vision and Mission of the College. Adhere to the code of conduct and serve on committees.
