Linux Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Pull apart a Linux system for troubleshooting kernel and library problems
- Bulk Patch servers in a controlled manner
- Setup and manage logical disk volumes
- Know bash and complex scripting
- Know and can apply Linux complex commands well, harden servers security-wise
- Configure and manage services like networking, ssh, iptables, AD integration, file shares, NX/Apache standalone and Load Balance cluster setups, DNS, DHCP, backups
- Setup and manage Syslog/Rsyslog in a centralised manner,
- Analyse and troubleshoot, do proactive support, and
- Manage and continuously improve a server footprint of 200+ Linux servers
- Beneficial would be practical knowledge of Virtualisation: VMWare, Shared storage (SAN connectivity) and AWS IaaS type services, High Availability and Server layer Load Balance setups, and some Ansible/Puppy/Chef deployments)
