Job Advert Summary    

• The Loco driver operates Front end loaders, an Excavator, and hauling dump trucks in an efficient, cost effective and safe way to meet the crusher requirements to build the Limestone stockpile timeously and also to move overburden to open up the mine. Also carries out other support activities delegated by the Shift supervisor.

Minimum Requirements    

• 5 O-Level passes
• Mobile equipment operator certificate
• Mobile equipment certificate of competence(Loader, dump truck, excavator)Industrial Control
• Willing to undergo multi-skilling within the department.
• Mobile equipment experience in an open pit environment (At least 2 years)
• Driver’s licence(class2)

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Load & Haul Execution - Operate mobile equipment efficiently and effectively to achieve required tones per hour. As directed by the operator.
• Production Control - Compile shift log, accurately and comprehensively completed, including: Targets, Actuals, Variance and action plans to achieve production targets during the shift. Record and report equipment downtime, idle time and running time to Shift Supervisor. Liaise with Operator support regarding work assignment. Conduct housekeeping as required and during periods of low demand.
• Production Review - Attend start of shift production INVOCOM and provide input where necessary.
• Conduct Short Interval Control with Operator support.
• Process Optimisation - Minimise waste
• Equipment condition monitoring - Conduct equipment pre-start checks and report faults.
• Minimise machine operating and maintenance costs through proper operation.
• Raw material handling and processing - Action instructions given by Supervisor and Crusher Operator.
• Governance - Comply with departmental Joint Audit Protocols.
• Risk Management - Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and standards. Assist with investigations of incident & accidents and implement required corrective action. Escalate Non-conformances to Supervisor or Crusher Operator.
