    Logistics & Amp; Consignment Controller (Graaff-Reinet)

    Description

    • This role sits at the centre of procurement, transport and receiving operations — part planner, part problem-solver, and part administrative wizard.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    Purchase Order Administration

    • Review inbound schedules and create additional Purchase Orders (POs) when required
    • Monitor and analyse open PO lists and follow up on outstanding orders
    • Obtain approvals for newly created POs
    • Capture and load POs onto the system prior to receiving raw materials
    • Monitor consumable stock levels and initiate replenishment through Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and approved POs
    • Maintain and update supplier price lists to ensure accurate PO pricing
    • Assign POs to relevant inbound loads

    Transport Scheduling

    • Create and distribute inbound transport schedules to relevant stakeholders
    • Select the most cost-effective transport option, whether fleet or third-party
    • Communicate transport requirements clearly and ensure deadlines are met
    • Monitor implementation of schedules and adjust where required, keeping stakeholders informed throughout

    Receiving Administration

    • Receive, scan and file inbound documentation in line with document management procedures
    • Verify documentation against PO details and investigate discrepancies
    • Amend PO details where necessary (with approval) and generate product receipts
    • Submit product receipts and supporting documents to Accounts Payable for processing
    • Provide feedback to the Procurement Manager regarding received materials
    • Assist with month-end stock takes
    • Complete general filing and administrative tasks

    Hygiene, Housekeeping and Safety

    • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and Food Safety standards (FSSC 22000)
    • Identify and address health and safety hazards through preventative and corrective measures
    • Maintain personal hygiene standards
    • Ensure the work area remains clean, safe and organised

    Requirements

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) – Essential
    • Logistics or Procurement Diploma (NQF Level 6) – Advantageous
    • 2–3 years’ experience in logistics, procurement or a related environment
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including basic Excel
    • Someone with strong planning and prioritisation abilities, excellent scheduling and coordination capability
    • Strong interpersonal skills
