    Logistics and Freight Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • The Logistics and Freight Manager is responsible for managing the fast and efficient flow of products from OKHA to showrooms or clients.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Freight Management

     

    • Strategically plan and manage logistics, transportation, and customer services
    • Direct, optimize and coordinate product deliveries
    • Responsible for tracking and reporting on the latest whereabouts of goods in transit
    • In cases of delays, responsible for communicating the status of shipment in order to maintain high customer service
    • Familiar with and responsible for fees relating to the international transportation of goods
    • Work with Project Managers to ensure all parties are informed of shipment details and progress
    • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
    • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements with regard to suppliers
    • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets

    Staff Management and Development

    • Oversee that Administration Assistant in relation to Freight and Logistics Administration
    • Develop and mentor Administration Assistant in Freight and Logistics Management

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager
    • Relevant Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain qualification
    • Demonstrable ability to lead processes and manage staff
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
    • Strong administrative skills

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA

     

    • Ability to remain calm, multitask and work under deadline-driven pressure.
    • Ability to build good relationships at all levels and the ability to work well in a team.
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Able to work without supervision, use initiative, and be proactive while working within a team
    • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload amidst conflicting demands and busy work periods.
    • There will occasionally be a requirement to work additional hours which may include weekends.
    • Able to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
