Logistics Controller at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced Logistics Controller to manage vehicle deliveries, drivers and daily logistics operations within a busy transport environment.

Key Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
• Relevant logistics and/or project management experience
• BCom Logistics Management advantageous
• Experience managing drivers, vehicle deliveries and fleet operations
• Experience with Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS)
• Strong knowledge of South African geography
• Cross-border logistics and transport experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Experience with data capturing and fuel consumption analysis
• Strong administrative, organisational and reporting skills
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills
• Mechanical appreciation
• Excellent English communication skills
• Zulu and/or isiXhosa advantageous
• Own reliable transport
• Able to work under pressure and outside normal office hours when required
• Willing to travel or work out of town for short periods

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage commercial vehicle deliveries and drivers
• Manage driver availability and operational efficiency
• Monitor vehicle movements using the Vehicle Tracking System
• Manage cross-border planning and procedures
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency
• Identify and resolve logistical challenges
• Conduct fuel consumption and operational data analysis
• Conduct daily toolbox talks with drivers
• Check tracking devices before driver dispatch
• Maintain accurate operational records and data
• Communicate operational matters to management and operations staff
• Develop and maintain effective operational processes
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
