A global provider of fully integrated logistics and transport solutions for the perishable goods industry is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage booking processes and ensure accurate execution in line with established standard operating procedures.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of assigned customers, ensuring efficient service delivery, effective coordination, and adherence to operational standards.
DUTIES:
Attend Client/Operation planning meetings
Provide shipping options/routes/stacks dates/ETD’s/ETA’s to clients
Ensure customer has relevant rates for the above mentioned on quotation
Request ad hoc rates for customer(s) with the commercial team.
Create & send Q67 to: PPECB

Intermodal department (if applicable)
Ensure receipt of Line booking confirmation. Verifying information correct as per customer instruction including capturing the correct freight contract (Client) in system.
Forwarding correct booking confirmation to customer as and when required / agreed.
Insert operational data e.g. container numbers / product & temp info in the system.
Interacting with intermodal in regard to any changes/amendments/issues with container loads
Communicate with Shipping line and client in regard to equipment/depot issues
Obtain support documents i.e. packing lists/addendums/commercial invoice(s) from Customer and ensure the same is shared with the dedicated Documentation Controller.
Manage deadlines with shipping lines and other various parties and share internally and externally, as needed.
Arrange Late arrivals etc. (anything additional regarding container bookings)
Inform customer of additional/incidental charges and obtain written confirmation from Customer on acceptance, with relevant comments on system.
Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
Grade 12 (Essential)
Diploma in Shipping, Clearing and Freight Forwarding, Distribution and Logistics Business Management or related field (Preferred).
A minimum of 2-years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics experience in both Sea and Air freight (Preferably export related).
After hour availability is essential.
Identify needs in the team and assist as and where needed.
To have working knowledge of Google Workspace and Excel (Desirable).
Ability to work under pressure and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
Strong organisational and communication skills to manage and prioritise workload.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Fast learner in internal and external computer systems and processes.
