Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Logistics Planner to join a dynamic supply chain environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating branch stock requirements, planning vehicle loads, and ensuring efficient logistics operations.
• The role requires strong logistics planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective stock management and customer service delivery.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a logistics or supply chain environment
• Experience within the chemical manufacturing industry essential
• Strong logistics planning and transport coordination experience
• Experience with stock management and inventory optimisation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with Sage ERP advantageous
• Experience with demand planning software advantageous
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate branch stock requirements and vehicle load planning
• Assess demand and plan trailer, tanker, and container loads
• Ensure efficient stockholding across branches by preventing overstocking and stock-outs
• Plan collections and deliveries according to operational requirements
• Prepare picking slips and dispatch documentation
• Coordinate load changes with warehouse teams
• Manage branch queries and provide customer backorder ETAs
• Ensure vehicles are loaded according to required deadlines
• Coordinate export order requirements with production and warehouse teams
• Liaise with procurement, production, supply chain, and other departments
• Manage return loads and optimise transport costs
• Monitor logistics performance and compile reports
• Support stock count activities
