Logistics Practitioner Final Product (Fixed Term) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To be the continuous improvement driver of the Logistics process through reporting on and analysing process performance, making recommendations and implementing projects in a safe manner and direct the Final Product management process.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status us

PEOPLE

• Ensure an enabling climate/culture
• Conduct recruitment interviews
• Occasional acting in a higher position

CUSTOMERS

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction
• Liaise with Smelters, Marketing and Bulk Transporters
• Ensure pre-shipment quality conforms to requirements 

BUSINESS PROCESSES 

Process Management:

• Update Process Strategy
• Analyse and report process data
• Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement findings
• Control stock holding, loading and dispatching of Final Products
• Monitor and trend crushing plant activities.
• Monitor Final Product Quality
• Manage the uninterrupted supply of Final Products to customers during the implementation of projects
• Review, update and develop Logistics Final Product SOP’s
• Manage all monthly survey processes

Process Quality:

• Monitor and trend product analysis
• Maintain process quality

SAP and MES:

• Update Final Product data, perform Final Product reconciliations and report process measures 

REPORTING:

• Compile and report Final Product production, quality and dispatching information

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• Degree or National Diploma
• 4 years’ relevant experience, preferably 1 years’ supervisory experience
