Maintenance and Engineering Manager at PERSONA STAFF

Strategy and Development

• Develop the Maintenance Strategy and ensure implementation.
• Development and management of the Preventive Maintenance Programme to ensure all scheduled activities are carried out timeously and effectively.
• Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget for a project or subproject and monitor and control actual cost against budget.

General and Task Management

• Diagnose plant and equipment problems (fault finding) and identify opportunities to modify, upgrade, improve or replace equipment and spares
• Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure the smooth operation of site and reduce downtime.
• Ensure that critical spares and consumables are available.
• Initiate requests for CAPEX for maintenance as well as project purposes.
• Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality.
• Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
• Manage maintenance meetings with operation teams.
• Manage the Maintenance team and ensure all tasks are carried out effectively.
• Manage contractors on-site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.

Project Management

• Manage the implementation of Engineering Projects/Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Schedule project activities to facilitate effective project execution.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement interventions.
• Ensure that the maintenance department works within the ISO Quality System as well as conformance to the ISO 14001 standard.
• Participate in the Audit process.
• Adhere to Financial Policies and Procedures.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers.
• Maintenance reports to be updated and sent to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

• Relevant Engineering or related field qualification required
• 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance management role
• Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of Resistance Welding Equipment & Powder Coating will be advantageous
• Proven understanding of drives & PLC’s
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
