Maintenance Millwright (Farming) at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd

• A leading vegetable farming business specializing in cultivating and distributing high-quality fresh produce is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright to be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing farm/factory equipment and machinery to ensure efficient operations.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must be a Certified Millwright (Red Seal)
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Millwright on a farm
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on pumps is essential
• Willingness to work in a farm environment and adapt to seasonal workload variations
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards is essential
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Must be proficient in Afrikaans (Written and Spoken)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, including tractors, irrigation systems, and harvesting equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Installing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment components.
• Ensuring all farm machinery complies with safety and operational standards.
• Collaborating with farm management to ensure timely and efficient resolution of equipment issues.
• Maintaining records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
• Monitoring spare parts inventory and ordering replacements as required.
• Training equipment operators on proper usage and basic maintenance practices.
• Ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Assisting with the implementation of new technologies or farming machinery.
