    Maintenance Team Leader - Lilianton

    Job Description    

    • Engineering Standards – Design, implement and communicate to relevant disciplines the engineering standards for the site. Carry out systematic audits to check compliance and ensure engineering statutory requirements are kept up to date and that information is adequately stored.
    • Capex Projects – perform all functions associated with projects including but not limited to compilation of annual capex budget, control and allocation of costs associated with project work, commissioning projects, managing and effectively co-ordinating implementation of new projects and updating of the asset register
    • Compilation of maintenance budget as well as control and monitor expenditure against budget, reporting over expenditure and/or extra ordinary maintenance expenditure.
    • Manage activities of outsourced temps and liaison with Management of outsourced company/labour broker
    • Ensure maintenance is cost effective.
    • To provide plant and equipment capability, reliability and availability to Production through application of maintenance planning system.
    • Manage and control the maintenance strategy on a day-to-day basis, including planned, corrective, scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
    • Develop maintenance strategy for the site.
    • Identify inefficiencies and ensure corrective action is implemented, identify critical spares inventory.
    • Track, analyse and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, preventative maintenance compliance, schedule compliance, budget compliance etc.
    • Ensure optimum equipment performance.
    • Ensure effective administration within the department by creating, maintaining review and filing of Production related controlled forms
    • Record, analyse and distribute statistical information to the Manufacturing Executive.
    • Supervise, develop, guide and performance manage staff.
    • Handle legal (statutory) compliance and manufacturing specifications as well as legal compliance
    • Ensure compliance to the OHS Act and other requirements that AECI Plant Health subscribes to.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • T3 or N5 in Mechanical or Electro Technical (heavy current) Engineering
    • Management/Supervisory skills diploma/certificate advantageous.
    • Minimum 4-5 years’ work experience in a Production environment as a Maintenance Team Leader/Supervisor
    • Experience in the management of subordinates at Supervisory level in chemical manufacturing plant
    • Experience in GMR 2.1 or 2.7 appointment
    • Experience with planned maintenance systems & Experience in budgeting and financial cost control
    • Be versed in plant maintenance standards, engineering & project standards, Process Safety Management, Good Manufacturing Practices, environmental compliance standards, Quality Process Management, Management of Change, budget preparation, & cost control.
    • Must have an ability to lead and manage others effectively; be an effective communicator; and have the ability to interface well with employees at all levels, especially with members of Senior Staff and corporate management.
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure and work extended hours.
    • Computer literate MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of NEMA, OHS Act and all other relevant Acts and regulations.
    • Knowledge of Syspro and/or SAP is a prerequisite.
    • Ability to work independently as well as within a team and be able to use initiative.
    • Knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems standards/requirements advantageous
    • Previous experience in root cause investigation
    • Possess sound working knowledge of Safety, Process Safety, Health and Environmental practises and must be safety orientated.
