Job Purpose
Oversee, maintain and manage the eThekwini Municipalities continuous and non-continuous

• ambient air quality monitoring network and fulfil local and national norms, standards and guidelines for air quality monitoring systems.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Oversee the implementation of methodologies, policies, systems and procedures for the
• Municipality continuous and non-continuous ambient air quality monitoring systems.
• Lead the coordination of the air quality data acquisition system and its related databases,
• procedures and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide advice on technical matters of air quality monitoring.
• Performing an administrative and financial control function related to the management of
• an air quality monitoring network.
• Human capital development.
• Performance and personnel management.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification (i.e Natural Science or Air Quality or Electronic). (NQF 6/7).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 Years experience in Air Quality Management

Preferred Requirements

• Relevant post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8)
• 6 Years relevant experience.
