Manager Commodity: Technical Services at Mondi Group

Job Purpose

• Reporting to the Head of Technical Procurement, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for the development and execution of the commodity sourcing strategy whilst driving TCO and corporate governance.

Education

• ESSENTIAL: Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain, Business Management / Engineering / Commerce or Category relevant.
• DESIRABLE: CIPS registration and / or qualification would be an added advantage

Job Experience

• 5-8 years in sourcing / operations / commercial / category specialist role
• Commercial Law/ Contract Management & Extensive SAP Knowledge is advantageous.
• Procurement in international environment and exposure to the procurement of capital goods and spares preferable

Key Performance Areas

• Develop and execute the commodity sourcing strategy and ensure delivery of best procurement value
• Identification and mitigation of MSA supply risks through the integrated involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
• Minimise total cost of ownership and drive cost saving for the business
• Provides for continuous procurement process and system digitalisation through ensuring that the available system tools
• Ensure contract implementation and contract lifecycle management.
• Deliver commodity targets, report on commodity performance (Savings, BEE, risk plans, payment terms, supply service levels)
• Ensure compliance with Mondi Procurements policies and procedures ,
• Conducts supplier evaluations and audits, in accordance with the annual plan, through actively engaging with the suppliers, to ensure that the approved suppliers are continuously meeting Mondi’s requirements.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with business stakeholders, providing a key point of contact, routinely assessing stakeholder satisfaction and developing improvement opportunities.

Job Competencies/ Attributes/Skills

• Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, integrity, innovative with continuous improvement approach, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills .
• Strong computer skills including the ability to perform cost analysis using various tools e.g., MS excel & PowerPoint is desirable
• Strategic sourcing, operational procurement, procurement systems, supplier relationship and performance management, cost management and contract management.
• A working knowledge of various BU activities and plants is desirable
