The Manager: Compliance is responsible for maintaining and developing the PSSPF’s existing compliance framework, ensuring full and ongoing adherence to applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. The role operates independently of the PSSPF’s operational functions and carries direct access to senior management and the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will be the PSSPF’s primary interface with the FSCA and other regulatory bodies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Relevant degree in Law, Commerce or a related field
Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) or equivalent qualification from a recognised South African compliance institution - hard requirement
Minimum 5 years’ compliance experience within the retirement funds or broader financial services industry
Sound knowledge of the Pension Funds Act, the Financial Sector Regulation Act (FSRA), FAIS, FICA and applicable retirement fund legislation
Proven ability to develop, implement and maintain compliance frameworks and risk management plans
Experience preparing and presenting compliance reports to a Board or sub-committee
AML/FICA experience advantageous
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, implement and develop the PSSPF’s compliance framework and compliance risk management plan
Monitor regulatory developments and report on their impact to senior management and the Board
Prepare and present compliance reports to the Board and relevant sub-committees
Serve as the primary point of contact with the FSCA and other regulatory bodies on all compliance matters
Conduct compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation
Identify and manage compliance risks, escalating material issues appropriately
