Manager :Content Specialists at Refinitiv

Role Purpose

• Manage the World-Check Content Specialist team based in Cape Town: Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), OTP Training Specialists, Data Analytics and Content Specialists (source monitoring, SOE research, human trafficking, wildlife trafficking, cybercrime and related threat finance research for Area of Responsibility – AOR).
• Reports to Global Head of Specialist Research on AOR
• Ensure specialism knowledge within the group is being leveraged to its fullest extent
• Work with General Research teams to sync up goals, projects and approach
• Work closely and effectively with Sanctions team and America’s and APAC Specialist Threat Finance and MENA research teams
• Give direction to reporting specialists, set goals and hold accountable
• Directs research projects and studies for AOR, providing leadership and management over the design and implementation as part of a team that delivers information and consulting services to clients.

Responsibilities

• Leads Content Specialists in DSAR legal matters, reputable source analysis, researcher advisory, guideline and research policy maintenance, training and learning module development, research studies, record creation, regular data updates and data analytics within designated budget and timeframe.
• Manage/coordinate global Specialist Research Projects and project guideline development
• Contributes to the new business development process by actively leading or collaborating on proposals and development efforts for research projects.
• Identifies and assists with building strategic relationships to enhance the win rate on research project, proposals and bids.
• Prepares, reviews and answer legal, sales and client queries and client research deliverables.
• Manages financial performance by monitoring team and project budgets and costs.
• Regular report on above responsibilities to Head of Specialist Research.

• Manages a team of 9+ professional employees / subject matter experts.
• Has responsibility for performance results of team.
• Spends large proportion of time managing team, whilst involved in all aspects of work done by team members.
• Provides technical guidance to team members.
• Assigns and reviews work and monitors results.

Knowledge & Skill

• Subject matter expert in AOR with minimum 5 years’ experience in AOR
• Outstanding critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills; superior attention to detail.
• Expert experience using Microsoft Applications.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• People Management skills displayed
• Creating subject matter expert goals, strategy and execution plans for team. 

Relationships: Internal / External

• Communicates with individuals at various levels (internally) and external clients in a leadership capacity.
• Communicates and works with peer group and management structures in General Research, Global Threat Finance and Sanctions Teams

Certifications / Education

• Matric
• Degree relating to AOR is recommended

Professional Experience, Strategic Planning & Decision Making

• Proven project management and consensus building experience
• Managing teams / professional groups
• Previous industry and/or quantitative work experience related to industry specific research and AOR
• Previous work history in AOR with administrative claims or data management
