Manager: InsurTech Architecture and Delivery at MTN

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

The Manager InsurTech Architecture and Delivery is responsible to provide group wide technology leadership for Fintech InsurTech architecture design and lead implementation of Fintech InsurTech Unicorn front and backend technology stacks.   The role will provide leadership on new best practices microservices-based architecture for InsurTech.  Architect will lead to document design ideas that are shared with business, ensuring alignment between the InsurTech systems and business goals

The role leads to define the capabilities and solutions needed to develop InsurTech integrated to MTN approved API gateways. This team member must have a broad understanding of the InsurTech, and insurance technology approaches within different industries and across different types of product or services.

The role provides guidance on InsurTech application and integration development best practices, functional and technical solution architecture & design. The role requires the ability to both think strategically about business and product priorities and dive deep into technical challenges.

Education:

• Minimum 4-year Academic Degree with Honours (B Eng. / BSc Computing, IT, Degree Preferred)
• Relevant certification/accreditation/membership with professional body

Experience:

• 5 years relevant industry experience InsurTech , digital, fintech, telecommunication
• Experience with various insurance and technology engines within different industries
• Experience in Integration & Orchestration, Functional Architecture Design, Technical Solution Design.
• Experience in Business Analysis, Risk & Quality Management.
• Proficient in Software Engineering.
• Understanding of Open API standards, protocols and methods for modern payment and financial systems
• Familiarity with RESTful services, HTTP, JSON, Ajax.
• Familiarity with Swagger or RAML
• Understanding of the Agile software delivery processes (SCRUM, Kanban preferable)
