    Manager - Licensing

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Review the analysis and recommendations of the licensing team to ensure compliance with legislative and governance processes.
    • Contribute to the development of the divisional operational plan and policies.
    • Develop and implement operational plans for the Licensing Section and manage their implementation.
    • Manage and provide guidance on the PA’s licensing function to ensure the timely and accurate processing of licensing and related applications.
    • Ensure the continuous improvement of the delivery and functioning of the licensing process
    • Develop procedures, processes, internal controls and system requirements for the Licensing Section.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to the licensing function and ensure compliance with relevant governance frameworks.
    • Manage staff performance and promote and support career management and development.
    • Provide integrated management information reports to support decision-making.
    • Lead and participate in engagements with relevant internal and external stakeholders and clients.

    Qualifications

    Job requirements

    To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

    • a minimum of an Honours degree (NQF level 8) in Law or an equivalent qualification in a related field; 
    • at least eight to 10 years’ experience in a legal and/or regulatory environment, of which two to three years should be in leading teams; and
    • admission as an attorney will be an advantage.
