Manager (Operations) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Provide an effective, efficient and sustainable Information Technology Operational service for the entire Council by managing and responsible for all areas of the computing services and control of the various Council's Computer Operations sections and Computer Centres.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Manage, co-ordinate and plan all operational issues in the section.
• Manage personnel related functions.
• Manage the production tasks and system securities.
• Manage the disaster recovery processes.
• Prepare and manage the sections budgets.
• Investigate, analyse and recommend new technology.
• Maintain documentation and procedures.
• Manage access control system.
• Communicate requirements and information, internal and external to the section.
• Co-ordinate and monitor infrastructure support services.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• 5 Years relevant experience.
