Develop an effective approved strategic business growth plan for the company, in line with the overall Group Strategy, to ensure a sustainable and profitable business unit;
Ensure that the strategic plans contained in the Business plan are well communicated and implementation is monitored continuously;
Provide dynamic and effective leadership;
Oversee key client management and retention strategies;
Identify new growth opportunities on the continent;
· Commercial structuring of appointments with sufficient commercial acumen to not limit growth and the provision of client solutions;
Oversee the planning and preparation of expressions of interest, proposals and final bids to achieve fee targets, in conjunction with the Bid Office where necessary ;
Cultivate and maintain regular contact with key existing and potential clients in conjunction with the Market Sector Coordinators, Project Managers and other relevant senior staff;
Oversee the efficient delivery and performance of Projects;
Lead and coordinate Commercial / Joint Ventures; and
Represent the Group in a professional business-like manner to enhance the Group’s reputation at all times.
Qualifications
BSc / BEng in Electrical Engineering;
Pr Eng;
MSc or PhD (advantageous);
MBA (advantageous).
Experience
15+ years in Mining/Power sector (majority in Power);
10+ years in a management role in a professional services firm;
5+ years in a senior leadership role in a Power business;
Private sector experience and led a business with at least R100m turnover;
Successful sales generation & market development record, with current market knowledge;
