Marine and Canal Assistant

The following job objectives were found to be relevant to this job:

Maintenance & Cleaning
- Receive and execute daily work schedule from supervisor / manager
- Maintenance of the marine, jetties, vessels, canal and related structures (Sweeper 2 & Beaver)
- Clean jetties berths, slips and all V&A Waterfront related property within the Marine and Canal
- Assist Contractors with V&A related maintenance, builds and repairs
- Identify and report maintenance, breaks and defects to relevant management when necessary
- Assist and support other Departments within the V&A precinct e.g. Cruise Terminal when necessary
- Adhere to all safety requirements at all times
Events & Special Project
- Assist with structure build up and breakdown when necessary (Land & Water)
- Adhere to all safety protocols at all times
Educational requirements relevant to this job:
- Grade 10
- Seafare Medical
- Safety at Sea Qualification
- First Aid Qualification
Experience relevant to this job:
- 5 years’ relevant experience in the Marine industry
