    Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator

    SANCCOB, a leading marine conservation non-profit organisation, seeks to employ a Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator to join its Resource Development Department in Cape Town on a full-time basis. The incumbent will support the development and implementation of SANCCOB’s marketing and fundraising initiatives and manage the organisation’s online presence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage all aspects of the company’s social media platforms, including, but not limited to:
      • the design and implementation of effective social media posts and campaigns;
      • monitoring of all social media content;
      • tracking the performance of social media posts and campaigns to ensure that the company’s social media presence is relevant;
      • utilising social media marketing tools effectively and keeping up to date with social media technology;
      • tracking engagement of followers to optimise social media campaign content.
    • Manage the organisation’s data management system, DevMan.
    • Maintain the donor database on DevMan, by accurately capturing details and interactions with all stakeholders for Cape Town and Gqeberha and adhering to daily capturing targets.
    • Accurately and efficiently record and allocate the receipt of income as per donor requirements in order to ensure accurate and up-to-date donor and financial records.
    • Accurately and efficiently record all in-kind donations and obtain supporting documentation in line with SARS requirements.
    • Promptly issue thank you letters, receipts, and Section 18A tax certificates in line with SARS and Public Benefit Organisation regulatory requirements, and within pre-determined deadlines.
    • Respond timeously to donor queries, whether telephonically, via email, or in-person.
    • Manage the administration of the company’s adoption programmes, which includes capturing photos of seabird patients, sourcing bird information, creating templates, and liaison with adopters.
    • Manage the drafting of all online communications, including newsletters, website content, appeals for support and final distribution when approved.
    • Assist with meeting pre-determined income targets.
    • Assist with the online shop platform.
    • Coordinate all aspects of media and filming
    • Any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employers business, as the employer may from time to time direct

    Requirements and Experience

    • Tertiary qualification in marketing, media, public relations, communications or similar
    • Minimum of two years’ marketing, media, public relations or promotional experience
    • Fundraising and NGO work experience will be advantageous
    • Basic design skills and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
    • Photography skills advantageous
    • Ability to work against a performance target and adhere to strict deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a larger team
    • Valid code 8 driver’s license
    • Only open to South African ID holders
