    Marketing Manager

    Purpose statement

    This role is within a fast-paced team that is a centre of excellence, responsible for driving tangible business results throughout the Discovery portfolio of businesses using multiple channels and touchpoints to reach audiences in an experiential way. This is not an event management role.
    The team’s purpose is to create strategic experiential brand and communication solutions that enables Discovery to meet its business objectives across the spectrum of portfolio businesses.

    Requirements
    The expectation of the Marketing Manager is to effectively deliver on projects, oversee and manage multiple elements in the portfolio and support the Divisional Manager in delivering on the following requirements

    • Driving strategic alignment of properties with the strategic objectives of portfolio businesses across Discovery
    • Managing and driving key elements of the sponsorship, brand ambassador and mass participation portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment with Discovery’s portfolio businesses:
      • Overseeing the brand ambassador programme to ensure maximum effectiveness in relation to portfolio businesses (e.g. Life, Invest, Insure, Bank etc)
      • Ensuring multiple touchpoints are used effectively to underpin Discovery-worthy brand experiences
      • Briefing agencies and suppliers, managing outputs, creative critiquing of work, digital asset management, event oversight, content generation and social media management
    • Leading innovation in the portfolio, ensuring Discovery is at the forefront of experiential marketing and audience engagement
    • Devising and implementing excellent multi-channel communications strategies
    • Stakeholder management – liaising extensively with external portfolio businesses to ensure opportunities are identified and capitalised within the sponsorship portfolio
    • Understanding the impact of various properties on multiple business portfolios and drive the effectiveness of properties on a national scale
    • Campaign reporting to measure impact (ROI) and drive corrective action
    • Budget development, management and reporting

    Essential
    Education and Experience

    • Minimum Of 3-5 Years’ Experience In Marketing Or Communication
    • Undergraduate degree or diploma (minimum 3-years) (marketing or communication focused) OR
    • Relevant industry qualification e.g. “chartered marketer”
    • Relevant industry experience
    • Post graduate qualification in marketing preferable
