    Marketing Manager - Engagement

    We’re recruiting a B2B digital marketer to drive engagement & retention programs at Clickatell. This candidate will work collaboratively across multiple teams, platforms and channels to drive personalised account- and automated campaigns that enhance sales, engagement, retention, and lead to positive customer behaviour.

    You will proactively engage with the Sales teams to activate, coordinate and optimize the impact of ABM marketing activities. The individual in this role will supervise and develop the Customer Engagement Manager, will report into the Director of Digital Marketing and is based in our Cape Town offices.

     

    The role of our Champion:

    • Execute a comprehensive engagement and communications strategy that proactively maintains high customer satisfaction
    • Monitor customer health score and utilization data to proactively identify account risk and immediately implement save-plays
    • Create and execute marketing automation campaigns to drive key actions of users across the customer lifecycle
    • Develop and own retention strategy and related channel roadmaps, rooted in data with clear objectives and KPIs, to provide value to customers and drive maximum Lifetime Value (LTV)
    • Manage day-to-day creation, execution, and optimization of customer communications, including, but not limited to, email outreach, SMS, chat channels and automation platforms
    • Understand relationships with key customer contacts to create focused promotional marketing campaigns, determine lead qualification, and transition leads to the Sales team
    • Align the Marketing and Sales teams in establishing account profiles and target personas; develop and maintain a database of named contacts and accounts and ensure outreach goals are being met
    • Translate sales objectives (both opportunity-based and relationship-based) into objectives and project plans for marketing support
    • Develop and implement an ABM strategy that facilitates targeted efforts to grow revenue, cross-sell/up-sell, and enhance relationships with existing accounts
    • Responsible for our Voice of the Customer analysis, leading efforts to derive meaningful customer insights through data, and partnering with senior leaders across the company so we can be successful in achieving our goals
    • Partner with sales operations / data team to establish, forecast and report against key success metrics

    • Extensive knowledge of the digital landscape, emerging technologies within a business-to-business market

    • High levels of attention to detail and well-developed troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are essential
    • Ability to work in a high-pressured, deadline driven environment
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

    Our Champions journey thus far:

    • Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in marketing, communications or similar
    • 7+ years of related experience in marketing / sales analytics
    • Minimum of 4+ years experience in relationship management, CRM, digital retention marketing
    • 2+ years of related experience in customer research-focused roles (e.g. Voice of Customer, Market Research, Customer Insights / Analytics)
    • A proven track record in developing integrated marketing campaigns and content
    • Experience in marketing automation strategy with real-life examples of successful revenue growth and engagement growth at scale
    • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, behaviour and consumer insights
    • Can operate at both an operational and strategic level
    • Preferably have experience working with HubSpot and SalesForce
    • Experience with cross-functional stakeholder management and the experience to influence across all levels of the organization
    • Preference will also be given to candidates with experience in international markets, particularly US and Africa
