    Marketing Manager - Johannesburg

    About the Role:

    • The Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning, promotion and advertising of one or more products/brands and the devise of market strategies and sales tactics to achieve profit objectives for the assigned brand portfolio.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Draws up the sales plans for the different products, detailing the promotional activities to be carried out during the various phases (persession, monthly, etc.).
    • Liaises with Trade Marketing and Commercial functions to monitor the sales plan and analyses deviations of the results.
    • Marketing and advertising Strategy
    • Prepares annual and longer-term marketing plans for assigned group of products/brand.
    • Develops and recommends advertising strategies and related activities to increase penetration and market share for assigned group of brands
    • Develops and implements (within the budget limits) the operational marketing campaign to achieve the defined marketing objectives.
    • Performs analysis of marketing projects versus previously established objectives.

    New Product SKU’s

    • Determines criteria for screening new products/new product skus and or ideas and prepares proposals for management actions
    • Defining the new product development (NPD) strategy for approval closely supported by the Region Marketing Manager and leading related projects.

    Market Testing

    • Recommends testing criteria for newly developed products, reviews test results and recommends alterations to testing programs.
    • Point of Sale (POS) Development/Packaging
    • Develops effective POS that portrays brand equity and maximizes stock mix, in accordance with Mktg plans.
    • Manages the project implementation, directly dealing with Packaging functions and/or external agencies, ensuring the compliance with guidelines.

    Trade Presentations

    • Develops trade presentations that are presented to customers in co-operation with Account Managers to communicate and “sell” Marketing plans.

    Market Research

    • Cooperates with the Market Research function (In Luxembourg and/or Italy) to produce reports on the performance of Ferrero products (sell-out data, freshness, pricing, stock levels, market share, etc.) and on consumer behaviour (consumer preferences and changing tastes). Uses tools such as “Nielsen answers” to acquire and analyse data.
    • Cooperates in carrying out ad-hoc surveys to monitor specific initiatives or more specific analysis of competitive and product-related scenarios and trends.
    • Communication & Media Development
    • Develops communication strategies in accordance with marketing plans and develops most effective & cost saving media schedules in order to achieve strategic goals.
    • Promotions & Trade Marketing
    • Develops concepts & promotion briefs with specialized agencies in order to achieve brand objectives
    • Evaluate current projects efficiency, competitors’ behavior and operating activities performed at the points of sale.
    • Supervising the material development activities

    Financial

    • Develops and manages budget for assigned products portfolio for advertising, promotion and other activities
    • Overseeing and monitoring the Profit and Loss single items and global result, in order to suggest and manage possible countermeasures.
    • Monitoring Sales / Consumer KPIs and following up (e.g. monthly / regular analysis of market / panel data and proposal of the so what / action plan)

    Legal

    • Ensures that all product/brand activities are compliant with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
    • Clearing of legal requirements related to commercials (property rights for audio/music,relations with actors, agencies, speakers, testimonials etc.) and deliver required
    • information in order to set up promotions and sponsorships related contracts

    Who we are looking for:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing
    • 6 – 10 years Marketing and Brand management experience within FMCG
    • Post Graduate Qualification will be advantageous
    • Experience in managing global brands and dealing with both local and international stakeholders
